# TW Streamer 0.4.18

Applies to every board: ROCK 4 SE (RK3399), ROCK 3A (RK3568), Radxa Zero 3W (RK3566), Raspberry Pi 4.

## Fixed — 50/60 fps aerial feeds (DJI Mini 5 with DJI Fly on the relay) stuttered and dropped out

- **HDMI now shows every frame of a 50 or 60 fps feed.** With DJI Fly on the relay port the aircraft sends its live view at 50–60 fps; the unit was presenting only half of those frames (a steady 25–30 fps), which looks like stutter on every pan. The picture pacing waited for the display twice per frame; it now waits once. Verified on ROCK 4 SE with a 60 fps clip: 30 fps before, 60 fps after.
- **The 7" operator panel no longer slows the HDMI picture.** Updating the panel used to hold the HDMI output for the panel's own refresh as well, and its once-a-second status/telemetry redraw stalled the HDMI feed for 100 ms (about six frames) every second. The two screens are now updated independently and the redraw takes about 10 ms. Verified with the panel on: 48 fps before, 59–60 fps after.
- **Feed dropouts recover in a few seconds instead of half a minute.** When the decoder stalled after the aircraft changed its stream mid-flight, the unit kept feeding the stuck decoder for up to 27 s. It now restarts the decoder on the next keyframe the controller sends.
- The decoder is no longer fed the aircraft's SEI metadata packets, which the Rockchip HEVC decoder misreads (visible as brief picture corruption and decoder resets on the Mini 5).
- The event log's renderer heartbeat now also counts skipped panel updates and stripped SEI packets, and `DJI_KMS_CADENCE=1` reports where each frame's time goes (vblank wait, HDMI present, panel scale, panel present).

## New — internet over a USB Wi-Fi dongle

- **Plug a USB Wi-Fi dongle into a USB-A port and the unit can join the venue Wi-Fi for internet** — for the RTMP/WHIP/SRT push, the VPN and updates — while the hotspot keeps running on the built-in Wi-Fi. Until now the unit's own internet came only over the ethernet cable.
- **Network → Wi-Fi → "Internet via USB Wi-Fi dongle"**: the card shows the dongle the moment it is plugged in, scans the networks it sees, and joins the one you pick. The saved network rejoins by itself after a replug or a restart; "Forget network" clears it. Network → Status shows the dongle's connection and address next to the other interfaces.
- **Common dongles work out of the box**: the 150M Realtek "nano" sticks (Vention, Comfast, Tenda), TP-Link TL-WN725N / TL-WN722N v2+, Archer T2U Nano, Archer T3U / T4U, Alfa AWUS036ACH, and the MediaTek MT7601U sticks. Sticks that first show up as a "driver CD-ROM" are switched to Wi-Fi mode automatically.
- A LAN cable still takes priority when both are connected. Phones on the hotspot are unchanged (they do not get internet through the unit, as before).
- The event log records the dongle being plugged, unplugged, and every connect / drop, so "internet dropped at the venue" can be explained after a power cycle.
